Human Resource Development Centre (HRDC), nominated by the Bulgarian National Authorities and the European Commission as the Bulgarian Erasmus+ National Agency, published on 4 June 2020 the selection results following the 2020 call for proposals under the Erasmus + Programme, Higher Education, Key Action 1: Learning Mobility for Individuals, KA 107: Mobility of Higher Education Students and Staff between Programme and Partner Countries. University of Economics – Varna enjoyed its biggest success under this Key Action, as UE – Varna had been approved to pursue mobilities with eight non-EU and non-EEC countries and had been allocated a total budget of €203,000 under the 2020 call (compared to the 2019 call budget of €103,775).
UE – Varna received the highest result of 92 points among all higher education institutions who had applied to establish mobilities with the Russian Federation and this University scored highest for Central Asia (Kazakhstan) with 86.5 points. It is important to note that these top results had been achieved by all team members and their concerted effort to establish and maintain partnerships for double degrees and joint research with HEIs from non-EU countries.
It is worth pointing out that UE – Varna is a proactive partner with one of the most prestigious universities in Russia: Plekhanov Russian University of Economics, which has ranked third in the world in the global 2020 Times Higher Education Impact Ranking: Quality Education. UE – Varna offers a double degree in the BSc International Business programme with Plekhanov University and this University has a joint sustainable development project with a team of co-workers from the same HEI.
UE –Varna also received funding for: Nigeria, India, Ukraine, Armenia, Albania and Montenegro. We would like to extend our gratitude to all co-workers for their great work and top results.
