From educational point of view, the ultimate “long term” goal of CATIA is the activation of courses at BSc and MSc level as well as PhD that are legally recognized and shared among the alliance partners in the CAT context.

This goal will be partially achieved at the end of the third year through courses and enrolments. The course begins in one of the locations and compulsorily continues and ends in a different university from the enrolment with a thesis project in one of the MOLs activated.

During the first two years an experiment will be started, based on existing courses, to test the CATIA infrastructure used by the partners to remotely manage all the information related to students’ careers. Moreover, it will allow students to define their own training path within the alliance on one hand, and to obtain all the certifications valid at European level according to a model that has already been experimented by the University of Bari at national level.

The involvement of the partners, in terms of competence planning and identification of common research projects, will enable the development of training courses able to value the diverse and unique specificities of the university locations on topics that enhance European artistic and cultural heritage.

A perspective of cultural and multi-linguistic integration will be pursued, with focus on reducing geographical and cultural distances, with repercussions in terms of tourism and safeguarding the monuments and artistic work of the countries involved. The project contributes to socio-economic development of European area improving knowledge and skills development of university students and their integration in the labour market. It is based upon the realization of a training program, to be performed with the participation of local institution, which will operate as a tool for the knowledge transfer and the setting up of local and transboundary networks.

The project through this specific internationalization strategy affects the development and preparation of global citizens inter-culturally competent.  One of the added values of the Alliance is in fact to contribute to the development of intercultural competences (the capacity to communicate, relate and work across cultural boundaries).
